Inez Carsauw

Mezzo-soprano Inez Carsauw studied at LUCA in Leuven and obtained her master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. As a young soloist, she made her debut with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Janáček’s ‘Jenůfa’. In Belgium, she has also performed with Muziektheater Transparant, Het Paleis and het Nederlands Toneel in Ghent. Carsauw is also a much sought-after soloist internationally. She has performed in various musical theatre productions at the Taschenoper in Vienna. She has also appeared at the Belcanto Festival in Dordrecht and the Covent Garden Festival, as well as at internationally renowned venues such as the Concertgebouw in Bruges, Bozar in Brussels and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.


Carsauw’s wide-ranging repertoire makes her a much sought-after soloist. She has sung in numerous operas, including Bizet’s ‘Carmen’, Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’, and Haydn’s ‘Arianna auf Naxos’. Carsauw is also at home with symphonic and sacred music. She has performed in Mahler’s Second Symphony and Verdi’s Requiem, as well as Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Bach’s St Matthew Passion. Furthermore, Carsauw does not shy away from the twentieth-century repertoire. She has performed works by Weill, Respighi and De Falla.
