Bertrand Lhote

Tenor Bertrand Lhote studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Mons, where he won first prize for singing. His breakthrough in Belgium came with his role in Massenet’s ‘Cendrillon’ at the Royal Theatre La Monnaie. He went on to perform this role in Luxembourg shortly afterwards. He has also performed in France and Switzerland.

Lhote sings a diverse repertoire. He has already performed many major roles, such as Alfredo in Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’, Don José in Bizet’s ‘Carmen’, and Radamès in Verdi’s ‘Aïda’. Nor does he shy away from the twentieth-century repertoire; he has already sung in Weill’s ‘Die Dreigroschenoper’. Lhote sings opera buffa, opéra comique and operetta. He has performed works by Rossini, Lehár, Strauss and Offenbach, to name but a few.
