Damien Vliegen (1985) is pursuing his passion for opera at a fast pace since 2017. He has performed some leading roles in opera’s, like Jacques Offenbach’s ‘Barbe Bleu’ and operetta’s like Franz Léhar’s ‘Die Lustige Witwe’. He frequently performed for the Opera Studio of the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi, singing in Mozart’s ‘Die Zauberflöte’, Offenbach’s ‘Les Contes d’Hofmann’ and Bizet’s ‘Carmen’. Damien took has sung this last role in three different occasions already. He has performed in venues like the Théatre Royal du Mons and the Théatre Royal du Parc in Brussels, but also abroad in Royal Hall of Harrogate in England.
Eager to keep perfecting his vocal skills, he has followed master classes with internationally renowned singers as Lionel Lhote and Marcel Vanaud. Finally, besides all his singing experience, he also translated his passion in in the company LyricLab. After recently mounting a production of Mozarts ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’, the great success of the first run guaranteed a revival coming soon. In this accessible musical theatre piece, he also plays a leading role.
