Dario salvi

Dario Salvi (1975) has an impressive track record as a conductor, but also as an arranger and researcher. He played the saxophone and clarinet from a young age. He was also active as an arranger. He later added the bass guitar to his repertoire. Despite his wide-ranging interests, he ultimately chose to train as a conductor, obtaining a master’s degree from the University of East Anglia. Nevertheless, he remained active in other musical fields. For instance, he has published several academic works on Viennese operetta and is still active as an arranger.

As a conductor, Salvi is best known for his acclaimed interpretations of forgotten works. His great renown in this field has led to more than twenty recordings on the Naxos label. His conducting career has taken him all over Europe, as well as to the Middle East and across the Atlantic. He has conducted for the Malmö Opera, the National Opera of Macedonia, Muscat, and the Winter Opera in St. Louis, to name but a few. In the 2024–2025 season, he was also principal conductor of the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra. His impressive track record has earned him several awards. For instance, he received the Riccardo Drigo Award for ballet music in 2023 and was made a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Johann Strauss Society of Great Britain.
