Laura Telly Cambier (1990),studied as a soprano at the Royal Academy of Liege. She immediately started her career singing in the lyrical studio of Charleroi. Her acclaimed performances were rewarded with the famous German Emmerich Smola Förderpreis, being rewarded to promising singers. Besides this prize, Laura also gained international experiences singing in places like Venice, Verona and London. While singing abroad, she was coached by other famous singers like Francesco Ruospo in Buari, Manuela Ochavski in Amsterdam, and Barbara Frittoli in Milan.
In Belgium, she has sung for two major opera companies: La Monnaie and Opera Ballet Flanders. She has sung different leading roles in opera’s like Bizets ‘Carmen’ and Rossini’s ‘Il Barbieri di Siviglia’. She is also a fixed value for the renowned Midsummer Mozartiade, singing roles in ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’, ‘La Clemenza di Tito’ and ‘Così Fan Tutte’, to just name a few.
Finally, she also created the company ‘Capart’, in which she focusses on giving people with a disability a chance to perform on stage. Recently performing ‘Une autre histoire de Carmen’, she was able to let the group re-interpretate the story of Bizets Carmen.
