Luc Laurent

Luc Laurent developed a strong passion for choral singing whilst still a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. After initial training with the Antwerp Bach Choir, he sang for many years in ensembles specialising in early music, such as Currende, Ex Tempore and Il Fondamento, and worked with renowned conductors including Sigiswald and Wieland Kuijken and Jos Van Immerseel. He later graduated with distinction in voice from the Conservatoire of Leuven.

At the age of 22, he founded the Vocal Ensemble Florilegium, which grew from a group of friends into an established name on the Flemish music scene. Since 2004, he has also led Hortus Musicalis, where he is dedicated to inspiring singers to take up choral singing and to explore the rich choral repertoire.
